Commerce Events Begins Next Round of Expansion
Andrew Preston Joins CME As President and COO
CAMPBELL, Calif., Oct 14, 2002 -- Commerce Events, Inc. (CME), the leader in powering adaptive supply chains, announced today that the company is beginning its next round of expansion. Andrew Preston, a 20-year industry veteran, has joined CME as President and COO. Andrew will manage CME’s execution plans, operations, and fundraising efforts. Andrew’s extensive background includes CEO and President roles at two public and six startups as well as venture capital experience. Andrew is also experienced with serving the needs of the Fortune 500 as well as Government bodies such as the US House of Representatives.
CME undertook an exhaustive search to find the ideal person to lead CME’s efforts to revolutionize logistics for the Fortune 500 and Government / Defense. “We are overjoyed to have Andrew take us to the next level in business execution,” said Anand M. Previously, Andrew was President and COO of Softbooks, an electronic books company, that was sold for over $300 million to Gemstar/TV Guide. In addition to having led two companies that were acquired, Andrew has driven triple-digit growth and profitability at several companies.
Andrew’s background includes companies that provided software and services to the Fortune 500. In addition, Andrew has significant Government experience, having sold innovative computer solutions to the United States House of Representatives and the American Red Cross.
Andrew, in addition to managing companies, also co-founded Bridgemere Capital, an investment banking firm that specialized in financing and restructuring early stage and venture backed technology companies. As a result, Andrew has the perfect background as well as the venture capital contacts to raise funds for CME. “CME is well positioned for rapid growth and for market leadership in logistics solutions that impact both the top and bottom lines,” said Andrew Preston. “I am honored to be chosen to take the company to the next level.”
