Commerce Events Appoints General Leon E. Salomon, U.S. Army,
Retired to the Advisory Board
CAMPBELL, Calif., Oct. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Commerce Events, Inc., the
leading provider of radio frequency (RF) based logistics and
manufacturing applications, is pleased to announce the appointment of
General Leon E. Salomon to the advisory board. General Salomon was the
Deputy Chief of Staff for Headquarters Department of the U.S. Army
from 1992 to 1994. He began his final assignment as Commanding
General, U.S. Army Materiel Command in February 1994. At that time,
General Salomon became only the second Ordnance officer in U.S. Army
history to earn his fourth star.
He retired from active duty in 1996 joining Rubbermaid as V.P. of
Purchasing and Logisitics. He later became Senior V.P. of Procurement
for Rubbermaid.
``General Salomon brings extensive private and public sector
experience to Commerce Events,'' says Anand M. Das, CEO of Commerce
Events. ``We are very excited to gain such valuable leadership as we
grow the company to be the dominant software provider in radio
frequency based enterprise applications.''
As a strong advocate for leveraging technology, General Salomon
adapted business practices to the Army's research and development,
acquisition, and logistics programs. While noting that technology will
not replace the soldier, he insisted that technology is ``a means to
give soldiers the extra edge they need and so rightfully deserve.''
``There has been a dramatic increase in the adoption of RFID based
systems in the U.S. Armed Forces,'' says General Leon E. Salomon.
``Direct radio frequency enablement is a fundamental requirement in
making Logistics/Supply-chain management systems more efficient. CME
software stack provides native RF enablement thereby providing
Government and commercial sectors improved execution responsiveness,
enhanced control and greater data accuracy''
