Commerce Events Extends BAM to the Globe
Announces Support for Business Activity Monitoring (BAM) Solutions
CAMPBELL, Calif., April 1 -- Commerce Events, Inc. (CME), the
leader in powering adaptive supply chains, announced today that the
company is first to enable Business Activity Modeling (BAM) solutions
throughout the Globe. According to Gartner, one of the most important
factors in the success of BAM is “translator software, which includes
the middleware needed to capture, process, and distribute business
data among multiple enterprise applications.” CME is unique in
providing computer-assisted data capture, distributed processing,
XML-based content management and routing, and global distribution via
multiple wireless Real Time Location and/or Global Locating System
networks. Talks are underway with several name-brand Fortune 5000
customers as well as with industry leading software vendors to base
their BAM solution on CME’s AdaptLinkTM platform.
BAM, as defined by Gartner, defines “how we can provide real-time
access to critical business performance indicators to improve the
speed and effectiveness of business operations. Unlike traditional
real-time monitoring, BAM draws its information from multiple
application systems and other internal and external (interenterprise)
sources, enabling a broader and richer view of business activities.”
CME’s core platform offering, AdaptLink, enables BAM solutions to
operate in real-time, anywhere within a manufacturing or storage
facility or completely around the globe. AdaptLink turbocharges BAM
solutions via a unique set of functionality that includes
computer-assisted data capture, distributed processing power,
integration among multiple applications, ability to utilize various
Extraction, Transformation, and Loading (ETL) toolkits, and more. In
particular, CME is unique in providing computer-assisted data capture
and global distribution via multiple wireless Real Time Location
and/or Global Locating System networks in a single offering.
AdaptLink provides the middleware components of Gartner’s
“translator software” layer required for BAM implementations. “The key
impediments to an effective BAM solution are automated data capture,
rules-based filtering, and real-time routing to multiple global
systems,” said Michael Williams, VP of Product Marketing and Business
Development for CME. “CME provides not only the data capture from
applications and business processes but also the XML-based routing
capabilities among wireless and Web-based networks that are absolutely
required for BAM.”
CME, via providing the middleware infrastructure needed for effective
BAM solutions, is well-poised to take advantage of this industry
trend. Talks are underway with several name-brand Fortune 5000
customers as well as with industry leading software vendors to base
their BAM solution on CME’s AdaptLink platform. More announcements
regarding BAM will be made in the upcoming months.
