Commerce Events Reaches To The Skies

Chris Farmer of SkyBitz Joins Advisory Board

CAMPBELL, Calif., Feb. 21 -- Commerce Events, Inc. (CME), the leader in powering adaptive supply chains, announced today that the company is reaching for the skies. Chris Farmer, a wireless and logistics industry veteran, has joined the Board of Advisors. Chris is currently the VP of Business Development for SkyBitz, the leader in Global Locating Systems (GLS) services for the transportation and logistics industries. Chris will contribute to CME’s business development strategy for both Enterprise and Government sectors as well as with fundraising efforts. With both industry expertise in wireless GPS and RFID solutions and a strong venture capital background, Chris is uniquely suited to help CME capitalize on the exploding market in Transportation, Enterprise and Defense sectors.

Chris understands the market as well as the needs of major customers in the key sectors addressed by CME. SkyBitz’s and CME’s offerings perfectly compliment each other, particularly in logistics, transportation, and security applications. “In our extensive search for the perfect advisor for CME, Chris stood out,” said Michael Williams, Vice President of Product Marketing for CME. “Chris has proven skills not only in articulating the value of a company to investors but also in setting the optimum strategy to capture markets that are poised to take off, such as logistics and transportation.”

In addition to his experience with SkyBitz, Chris has broad experience in growing successful ventures. As founder and principal of a consulting firm, GeoStrategy Partners, Chris served as an advisor to several leading venture capital firms. Chris, as evidenced by SkyBitz’s successful funding, knows not only how to establish a market foothold but also how to overcome today’s extreme funding challenges. “One of the largest bottlenecks to growth in the tracking market is delivering an end-to-end solution that’s bulletproof,” said Chris. “CME has forged a unique solution from a staggering array of technologies that can help our customers become real-time enterprises.”
